DISCOVER COORG VIDEO: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KODAGU
‘Discover Coorg – A Video’ is the first full-fledged video on Kodagu (Coorg) in Karnataka, one of the foremost holiday destinations in South India.
The video produced by journalist P.T. Bopanna, author of seven books on Coorg, features tourist spots, homestays, Coorg jewellery, Kodava family hockey festival, facilities for golf in Coorg, and the unique culture of Coorg, including traditional Kodava folk dances and Kodava wedding.
Pattamada Sundar Muthanna, a noted writer, has written the script for the video. The voice-over has been done by Mohan Ram. The videos were shot by B.K. Vasanth Kumar. The duration of the video is nearly 35 minutes.
A short video produced earlier for my website coorgjewellery.in on “How to wear a Coorg sari” was also added to the Discover Coorg video. The sari video featuring international model Dayana Erappa was directed by fashion guru Prasad Bidapa.
Krupakar-Senani, wildlife photographers, provided the footage from their painstakingly shot video of Nagarahole/Rajiv Gandhi National Park.
Speaking about the video, Bopanna, who has nearly four decades of experience as a journalist, including 12 years with The Times of India, Bengaluru, said: “After I came out with my first book ‘Discover Coorg’, a travel book in 2006, there were enquires for a video on Coorg. Those of you familiar with my work, know that I have been chronicling various aspects of Coorg in the past one-and-a-half decades through my books and websites. Since video is a powerful medium, I decided to produce a video on Coorg. Since I am not a professional documentary-maker, I took the help of professionals to put together the video.”
The trailer of the video was uploaded on YouTube in 2014.
